The Solid Energy Rotowaro office held its annual 'Pink Morning Tea',
a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research.
The woman in the Rotowaro office cook up a pink storm and the guys then pay for the privilege of enjoying some sugary, food-colour-laden goodies by making a donation towards the cause.
GIS Technician Hadley Craig set up a very popular web-based silent auction for larger cakes and other goodies.
The money raised is then taken along to the local Huntly Pink Walk which was held on 14th October. Solid Energy staff are encouraged to participate in the walk and the company donates spot prizes to acknowledge local colleagues and/or partners who are undergoing treatment, survivors or, in one case, someone who succumbed to breast cancer.
Last year the Pink Morning Tea raised $250.00 - this year however they smashed that total and raised $450.00 ! ($265.40 from donations and $184.60 from the silent auction).
Well done Solid Energy and thank you for raising breast cancer awareness in your community.
