Community Fundraising

Each year a variety of events are held around New Zealand by groups and individuals in support of the Waikato Breast Cancer Trust (WBCT).    The WBCT is very grateful to these outstanding inviduals and groups who raise breast cancer awareness, support and funds for the WBCT.

Creating your own fundraising event/project is a really great way to raise money for the WBCT and to help raise awareness of breast cancer.

Each year local communities work together to raise funds that enable the WBCT to continue our vital work for women, men and their families affected by breast cancer.

How do I get started?

It couldn't be easier!   If you would like to hold an event, our fundraising guidelines will help you get started.    The WBCT welcomes events from individuals, clubs and organisations who wish to do fundraising on our behalf, promote our image and raise awareness of breast cancer.   We do however, need to take care to ensure that your event or project will align with our cause and our values. Ideas for organising a great event:-

Choose what type of event you would like to hold.    If you are not sure here are some ideas to get you started....

Sell our New Zealand Women's Health Diary® on our behalf

Host a 'Pink Walk' in your area.

Hold a 'Pink Partaay' or 'Bejewelled Bra Ball'

Organise a 'Pink Day' in your place of work, get everyone to donate $1.  You could even get all your male colleagues to wear something pink!

Bake a 100 Pink Cupcakes and sell to your friends/family.

Organise a 'Pink Fun Run' in your local community.

If you are planning on running a marathon or enjoying a friendly sports game why not do it for a cause?  Increase your personal accomplishment by sharing it with others.   Wear pink uniforms/strips or paint your bike pink to help with the cause!
