SOLE Trial

This study is evaluating the role of continuous letrozole versus intermittent letrozole following 4 to 6 years of previous hormonal therapy for postmenopausal women with hormone-receptor positive and node positive early breast cancer.

The principle behind the intermittent use of letrozole is that stopping letrozole for 3 months will permit some oestrogenic stimulation which makes residual disease susceptible to letrozole reintroduction.
